I downloaded it, I think it's pretty good. The cover art is pretty cool too! |

haha, that is a pretty brutal review. i guess when a band has been around for so long and doesn't make too many efforts to change their sound on a grand scale (which isn't a bad thing in some cases), it can lead to reviews and general opinions like that. i think it's a good album, but i do agree on the song titles. they're pretty cliche and unimaginative, but coming from a band that has always had song titles like that for the most part, it's no surprise. if you also forget that "destroy the opposition" ever came out, this album is automatically 5x better. i personally believe it's a few steps up from "stop at nothing" as well.
as far as the artwork goes, i'm glad that orion landau took care of it. he's one of my favorite graphic designers (and i usually don't give graphic designers much attention to begin with overall). he's able to take a few simple elements and create a strong composition without making it look like 5 other pieces. the fact that he was able to use a skull in a manner that no one else has done is amazing itself, considering how overused skulls are these days. |

i always thought the appeal of dying fetus is that they mix it up with hardcore parts. |

haha, i wouldn't call them youth crew pit riffs at all, but it's been a part of their style for a long time. they started out when new york hardcore and death metal were pretty tight together, so that will explain it. i can definitely see why people think they're boring, but they're one of those bands that you either like or don't like; there usually isn't an in between. |

if Fetus cut out the mosh parts I would be pissed. |
|
dying fetus has breakdowns down to a science |

meh. they really need Netherton and Talley in the band to hold my interest. the production is very uninteresting and sterile. is there even a bassist playing in there? there's no low-end at all. just seems like they're not attempting to make any progression stylistically. very formulaic tune. maybe the others are better.
still one of the best live bands i've ever seen though. and i still love "Killing on Adrenaline" and "Destroy the Opposition". |

Downloaded the album. I like it. It is stronger than Stop At Nothing. I will probably end up buying the CD when it comes out anyway. |
