GRAF ORLOCK: Noisey premieres new track off "Trailer" 7", band readies new LP and embarks on Eastern US tour

LA visionaries/pranksters Graf Orlock have returned with a new seven-inch, Trailer, their first new music since 2012's Los Angeles EP.

Noisey is now streaming "A Decent Proposal in a Shitty Alley," a track off Trailer.

As Noisey editor Fred Pessaro explains, "Graf Orlock are a serious band, crafting excellent release after excellent release with elements of grind, hardcore, and punk. The difference? Graf Orlock's songs are inspired by and written about ridiculous action movies of yesterday, cinematic achievements like Bad Boys 2, Terminator 2, Demolition Man, and Jurassic Park."

Graf Orlock's Hollywood obsession runs deep – all lyrics, song titles, and artwork are derived from big screen hits and misses of the '80s and '90s. A fun joke or a brilliant social commentary? The band suggests the latter: "Looking at issues through the lens of film... shows how fucked up things are," guitarist Jason Schmidt has stated.

Noisey's print daddy, Vice Magazine, once named Graf Orlock, "the future of music."

Revolver Magazine awarded Graf Orlock's 2011 EP, Doombox, the title of "Packaging of the Century" – the EP was packaged in an actual-size, fold-out, card stock "boom box." Other Graf Orlock artwork includes a pop-up Alien-style "chestburster" inside a gatefold LP and a series of shooting range targets riddled with actual bullet holes.

Order Trailer now from the band's own label, Vitriol Records.

The songs on Trailer will also appear on Graf Orlock's next LP, Crime Traveler, in the works now for a fall release.

Graf Orlock embarks on a tour of the Eastern US this week with Dangers and Holy.
