"Reactivated British extreme metal legends CARCASS are rumored to be putting the finishing touches on their first studio album in 17 years with acclaimed producer Colin Richardson (FEAR FACTORY, MACHINE HEAD, NAPALM DEATH, SLIPKNOT, BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE). The band has yet to secure a label home for the effort, which is expected in early 2013."

I mean, this COULD be great. The come-back albums by Autopsy, Atheist, etc. are quite excellent.

But on the other hand, this could totally suck. And then i'd be forced to sit though bad Carcass if I ever see them.

Thoughts?

I bet your fav album is heartwork

toggletoggle post by Spence at Dec 1,2012 1:02am edited Dec 1,2012 1:05am
Necroticism yo.

Edit: But just because Heartwork is their most popular album, doesn't mean it's bad. Both Heartwork and Swansong are decent, even if they aren't as good as their prior stuff.

Get ready for some heaping pile of "Death 'n' Roll"

If every song doesnt sound equally as or more shithead than Pyososified, NO CARE.

toggletoggle post by quintessence  at Dec 1,2012 8:33am
This is going to blow. hard.

Why could it totally suck? They never released anything that really sucked that bad, just some people didn't like Heartwork because it was melodic but it still was a well made album not to mention a personal favorite to a lot of people including myself. Spence, your threads and opinions suck.

Truth. Negative fucks on here.

toggletoggle post by dreadkill  at Dec 1,2012 9:38am
Swansong is awesome. Not their defining album, but still awesome.

toggletoggle post by Richard Hertz at Dec 1,2012 9:54am
I'm going to bet it will mind-numbingly mediocre.

Swansong, their final album, was released in 96. Excuse us for being skeptical about a band that started going downhill 15 years ago, broke up, and is now reformed and planning a new album. I mean I know MOST bands that do that always come back with their best album ever, right? BUT....... They dont.

toggletoggle post by KEVORD  at Dec 1,2012 10:52am
Well at least this stops Arch Enemy from making a new album and touring.

good point but don't you think bands would start to notice that trend?

toggletoggle post by demondave at Dec 1,2012 11:51am edited Dec 1,2012 11:53am
We'll see what happens. I know people love swansong, but I just didn't. I'll try it again, maybe time has made a difference.

People would be best off not getting their hopes up. Other than reunion shows, what we have to go on is Steer's rock band Gentlemans Pistols and Walker's little country abortion. They are good musicians but who knows what they think. Autopsy came right out and said "we are playing death metal" But with Carcass.... you could end up with a rock album with deathy rasps and the Carcass label slapped on it.

I hope not, but I am not holding my breath either

your all gay and I hate you all.

are you coming on to me?

toggletoggle post by Spence at Dec 1,2012 4:29pm edited Dec 1,2012 5:48pm
To me, it's not a matter of whether the new album is good or not. The two examples I gave, Autopsy and Atheist, both have quite excellent comeback albums.

I just would hate to see Carcass one day and they played sixty minutes of classics, then twenty minutes of new shit. I'd rather pay 25+ bucks to see 80 minutes of classics. And that's how i'm looking at it.

And loads of bands that make comeback albums really suck. The new Morbid Angel and new Primus albums are still too fresh of a wound for me to want to welcome other comeback albums.

toggletoggle post by Randy_Marsh at Dec 1,2012 4:38pm
You'd think there would be at least one band that made a comeback nowadays in a good way..

toggletoggle post by AUTOPSY_666   at Dec 1,2012 5:04pm
DEHUMANIZED, SEANCE and UNANIMATED all had great comeback CDs.

toggletoggle post by boblovesmusic   at Dec 1,2012 5:09pm
If I put out a comeback album, I'd purposefully make it as terrible as I could

That Unanimated CD was alright, nothing mind blowing but solid, they also aren't as legendary as Carcass though.

Slaughter of the soul was their best album imo. Can't wait for the new one.

Can't tell if joking.

toggletoggle post by Spence at Dec 3,2012 2:31pm
No longer a rumor, confirmed for real.

Calling it now, this will be the biggest letdown of 2013.

toggletoggle post by trioxin245  at Dec 3,2012 2:55pm
Why do you people frequent sites like 'metal injection?'

toggletoggle post by Spence at Dec 3,2012 3:03pm
I don't frequent any music news sites, this just popped up on my fb newsfeed.

Am I the only one who really doesn't give a shit good or bad? I like Carcass and they were great a few years ago at the Palladium but this just feels like a cash in. I'd rather listen to new bands then worry about Carcass reuniting and making Necroticism 2.

That is pretty much what I'm saying.

nope, you are a wise old man. it could be mind-blowing, it could be mind-numbing, i don't care either way.

pretty much, but I was never real wild over Carcass, any era.

toggletoggle post by KEVORD  at Dec 3,2012 3:34pm
I wish all the bands from my youth would stop making new albums and just tour. Then Spence wouldn't have to sit through bad Carcass. Even though he isn't going to MDF anyway.

this. they reunited for the money, and this is more than likely no different.

>>Here's A Video of Jason Newsted's New Band Jamming>>

My god. I clicked this one out of curiosity.

Why the hell is there an article for a 25 second video of them just playing some random generic rock song?

Like, if they had made and shot a video for a whole song or something, i'd understand but... man, all these metal/core news sites really suck.
