Ron Paul actually stated in a speak that stopping abortions is one of the most important issues of our time. His beliefs would cause and anti-abortion belt so that a girl raped in north dakota would have these options
1) have a rape baby
2) travel 500+ miles across multiple state lines illegally to have an abortion where it was legal and anyone that helped her would be charge with federal crimes
3) have that abortion on an indian reservation
4) have a back alley abortion
I've never heard him say anything like that regarding blacks or read anything speaking to the same. I'm aware of his position on tight border control and his opposition to welfare for illegal immigrants. In terms of abortion, it's an old debate which likely will never be resolved but unless you were being slightly facetious regarding him supporting personal freedoms, I totally disagree. In all honesty, I think trying to reverse Roe v. Wade would be political suicide. Taking a "pro-life" stance is cause enough for me to lose interest in a candidate in the first place, but if anyone ever made a real jab at the Supreme Court's decision, the shit would hit the fan in a big way.

While I don't agree with every one of Ron Paul's positions on things I would seriously consider voting for him because he has said numerous times that he would end the war on drugs and stop filling prisons with non violent offenders. Now what a politician says and does usually end up being completely different. All that promised hope and change? That being said, Obama has said flat out that he does not support legalization.

Normally I would agree with this, but in the case of Ron Paul, he has a 30+ year record of political consistency so it is more likely that he would stick to his guns on promises made.
