3.0 just got finalized in December and officially announced for release to hardware vendors a CES. The expansion cards are probably available now but who knows how much $$ My guess is around 200 bucks. I don't think we'll see 3.0 ports built into new laptops and desktops until 2011.
I wouldn't hold your breath on that. Computer vendors probably want to wait until theirs better driver support. You might be able to special order and request 3.0 but i really don't see it coming standard for another year.
also correct me if i'm wrong.....3.0 requires new cables right? I thought i saw somewhere that the special 3.0 cables could only be 2 meters long or some shit. Obviously you could use 2.0 cables for 2.0 speed. But i also seem to remember that there's really no difference between the 1.1 and the 2.0 cables. If they try to pull the same shit like with HDMI where the cables cost 100 bucks at first then no fuckin way im messin with 3.0
