I tested one out and it seemed decent, anyone heard bad things about it? I also wanted to know if anyone knows if they sound good at high levels.

For the money, they're pretty nice amps...

I have one and its a great amp. it sounds great at high volumes. not shitty and compressed like the windsor amp. i'd say it's similiar to a Laney AOR 100. I am nervous when moving it around, because it looks like knobs could snap off it if smacked into.... hence the low price, but that hasn't happened yet and its lived up to any expectations I had for a $550 head...Loud, decent tube tone, and takes pedals well. Replace the tubes with something when you get it; the tubes in it also contribute to the low cost (i use JJ's). The transformer in it isn't huge either, which some people have commented on in other sites. Great amp.

yea i tried one at guitar center and thought it was awesome, sounded not much different then my 5150 or 6505 even. I might buy a couple if i dont buy a few more

I have played the 2x12 combo, less gain than a 5150, xxx, jsx.

Exceptional amp for the price. Very Similair to a 5150, though it has a 1k boost in the circuitry. Replace the tubes in it, and you have a great amp for all occasions.

boosted it sounds very similar to a 5150, but without the razor bark. anyone looking for an inexpensive but decent sounding head should check this out.

i tried one out as well, the thing i like about it is it is way more versatile than most other peavey heads. it doesn't do super high gain, but peavey makes 3 other heads that do. i felt like it sounded really thin though, but i imagine replacing the tubes would help out a great deal.
