KILLSWITCH ENGAGE guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz has issued the following update:
"Greetings, my caped metal minions!
"As some of you may already know, I will not be joining my bros in KILLSWITCH ENGAGE for the current 'No Fear' tour due to a wicked bunk back injury I sustained last tour. The quick deal is...I severely herniated another disc in my back, and if I didn't get emergency surgery, I was risking the possibility of paralysis below the waist. I opted to get surgery instead of crapping my pants for all eternity. I think it was a sweet move.
"I would like to personally thank the KILLSWITCH ENGAGE fans for all of the signs, chants, blogs, and love...it means a lot to a fat crippled retard like myself. Hopefully, I won't be gone for too long. But, until my return, I will need all of your beef jerky for strength. Please send me all of your jerky to my 'Jerky Across The World' campaign, and together we will rally for good health through dried meet products. Please send donations to:

"God bless you guys. See you soon."
KILLSWITCH ENGAGE will film a video for its new single, "The Arms of Sorrow", in March. The song comes off the group's new album, "As Daylight Dies", which has sold 203,000 copies in the United States since its November 21 release, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The CD is the follow up to 2004's Grammy-nominated album "The End of Heartache", and 2005's gold-selling DVD "(Set This) World Ablaze".
As BLABBERMOUTH.NET first reported on February 20, KILLSWITCH ENGAGE has confirmed that former HALFORD/DIESEL MACHINE guitarist and ex-DAMAGEPLAN vocalist Patrick Lachman is filling in for Dutkiewicz on the band's North American tour with DRAGONFORCE, CHIMAIRA and HE IS LEGEND.
KILLSWITCH ENGAGE's current single, "My Curse", hit #15 in the Active Rock format this week, and the video recently peaked at #1 on MTV2. |

nope, we are here now. I weeped a little bit inside. when carina walked off to take some pictures, a kid walked into the main room and exclaimed "korn, sweet!" to korn being played over the PA.
it's going to be fun cause carina and I are together. |

that adam d. is a weird character |
|
wait a second, what the hell is now fear? I mean besides a set of stickers that are usually next to calvin pissing on some truck logo? is this like the tshirts that kids in junior high and jocks wore like 15 years ago?
he is legend: well, I thought they were a chritian hardcore band. Mostly based on the name and not on their CD (which I have at the station, but never gotten around to putting in the player). They were really rocky. Like seemless rocky, but they kept a few spare break downs for good measure. I can tell you right now that I like seemless better. Before they went on, the guys working there tried to pull down a giant banner from in front of the stage. This banner had movies being played on it. Yes, that makes it more of a movie screen than a banner, but shut up, I don't care. Anyhow, they ended up having to bring down the lighting rig it was on so that they could unclip it. All the while, the singer was telling the crowd to laugh, especially if the rigg came down. I decided it was time to step out from under that think so I didn't get crushed (unlike every super villian who has ever fought a super heroe inside a theater. See, I learned something useful from comic books). Their set wasn't nearly as heroing as the beginning. but have no fear, it was over quickly. |
|
good question...you should look into that while you're there |
|
we just saw jonah. he looked like he didn't have any fear at all! I forgot he was friends with dragonforce. |
|
chimaira: I had a huge review typed out. My phone decided to paste the he is legends over it. And I was funny. I had a lot of good quotes down.
So here are the highlights:
people got the boot from the beverage controller (neon orange quote)
people in the crowd spin kicked for a prize. The winner got a cake
I liked them when they were a fear factory cover band and kevin talley was in the band.
I had a bunch of other things, but those 1's and 0's are lost. Damn. |
|
dragonforce: yeah, people complain about them and are going to say blahblahslopptblahblah. Honestly, I don't care. Their set is high energy and fun to shoot. I see all these emo and nu metal kids getting into them and can only hope that it leads to them picking up a blind guardian or sonata arctica CD. The photographers weren't told no flash so there flashes going off in their faces. A couple people got yelled at for it. I saw the asian dude point to his eyes twice. I didn't get it the first time, but I understood the second time. Watch your flash for their eyes.so I moved away from him. Like carina said they were very polite about it and I got to shoot 99% of the set with flash. Their first song had a bunch of gutterals in it. I don't remember them ever havn anything that sounded like that before. Towards the end of the second song, they started showering the audience with water. I wouldn't enjoy that shower too much, knowing that most of it came from the singer's mouth. The security here kept wiping it up and then the band would spray out more. The set was filled with the crowd singing along and tossing horns in the air. |

pictures uploading in a minutes |

yea guy, gotta make way for guido night, what are you thinkin? |
|
who drinks beer from a straw? come on now. |
|
my gf drinks beer from a straw, less oxygen, more flavor, more drunk. |
|
I wish I had an orange Beverage Controller jacket. That thing looked like a joke |
|
you wanted to know what it was |
|
Wow, does Chimaira SUCK with that new drummer; or maybe it is just that the new drummer sucks so much that the band is TOTALLY dragged down... I just cannot believe that THIS is the guy they ended up with... aren't you supposed to get better guys when someone leaves? total and utter disappointment. and to think that they had Kevin Tally.. now they have 'muscleman no-chops' behind the kit. |
|
i thought dragonforce was cool until the singer started "spraying" water out of his mouth!*&^%!@#. Umm, I think they call that spitting, f*ckhead. can't decide whether it is more gay or disgusting. yeah, you're right, it is both |
|
He is Legend = They Do Totally Suck
who got blown to get those LOSERS on the bill, like a faggy Black Crowes (who themselves are faggy), meets Korn-Hole |
|
Now tell me there is a better front man in metal than Howard F'ing Jones. He kicked much ass Friday, and the band played like a well-oiled machine.. major props for keeping it real while stepping up the stage show. Justin Foley just crushed it on drums, chops and execution are second to none. |
|
Enjoy this crotch of fury. Or else Herman Ri is going to play his guitar with his pubic hairs, don't doubt it. |
