i'm friends with michael, the one who books the wednesday nights at the brickhouse. last week was the trial run at making it 18+, but since "no one showed up", the management switched back.

it was GAME SEVEN of the baseball game. that's why there weren't many people there (also, it WAS the human flight committee playing. that may have had something to do with it as well). it sucks a lot, i hate playing 21+ shows. oh well.

I would have gone if

A) I remembered
B) I had a ride
C) I had money
D) The Red Sox weren't beating the shit out of the fucking other teams and causing death and mayhem in Boston less than 4 mi from my house
E) I could control myself enough not to destroy the venue during PFAP (fat chance, they r00lz!!!)

in the futer i would like too see Over the Top work on these key areas.

A. more jumping.
B. more black dahlia murder riffs, in and in between songs.
C. more homoerotic mannerisms on stage.
(you dont have to hide that stuff, its different now people are ok with it.)
D. less bad music!

thank you.

dale.

this show looked like was gonna be bands playing for bands but it ending up an ok turnout due to something called a WORLD SERIES.
The network played a really good set and some guys slipped around ina puddle of beer, an old man did elvis moves and some of his own moves in a leather jacket!!
I picked up the guys that fell in the puddle of beer. Then the red sox won the world series.
Birth Rites- showed that they can grow facial hair and all look like used car salesmen.
Over the top- where pretty over the top..I have to say I liked there previous bands a lot more than this one. I think I just hate the fact that everyone is going back to 1997.. they are all good musicians I guess what they are doing is good and they can make a lot of money in that whole area.
red sox- Played the worst set in 86 years..
there was a fucking lunar eclipse!!!
Dave the sound guy had the biggest head I have ever seen in my life!!!

toggletoggle post by HITD at Oct 28,2004 6:53pm
hey, we randomly got added to that show. we know we didnt sound alot like the other bands that played. we're not a metal band. (over the top)

toggletoggle post by KYLEDOES at Oct 28,2004 7:45pm
I dont think any band last night was a ''Metal Band''.

toggletoggle post by carcinogenic_cookies at Oct 28,2004 8:43pm
My highlight was Josh's rousing rendition of Arrested Development's "Tennessee" and Johnny's mustache.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Oct 29,2004 10:01am
oh crap! I never posted this!

well, I got there and they wouldn't let me in cause my liscence expired a few days ago! I waited outside and called rustedangel who talk to rob g (over the tops drummer) who talked to sparky (wheb) who got one of the owners (chris) to let me in.

pray for a plague: I heard 1/2 their set from out side, but it sounded awesome. that same kid got up and did guess vocals and got yelled at by the sound guy for abusing the equipment.

birth rites: they played mostly new songs. made fun of castro hats. actually, I think the viva fidel song was the best of their new stuff.

over the top: personally, I think they get better as the set goes on. the last couple songs sounded the most like integrity which is a guilty pleasure. the person's comment above about the music they make, I can see what they mean. all the members are great musicians and this music is more "simple" then you would expect from them, but who cares, they are having fun. maybe they will mix At the Gates riffs into their Integrity sound, would that make you happy?

the network: I thought they were going to get banned from yet another venue, but they didn't. awesome set. I hope they get signed at some point. I like how tim plays a lot of the old drum machine parts on his set.

toggletoggle post by KYLEDOES at Oct 29,2004 4:53pm
I dont think they sound anything like integrity.....

toggletoggle post by HITD at Oct 29,2004 8:16pm
well thank you Rev, about the comment on us (Over the top). i def aim for dwid from integ's vocal style. that band has defenitely influenced my life. im not sure exactly what sound or form our band will take. the first couple songs that rob, matt, ryan and gisel had played for me (to see if i wanted to try out or not) def sounded very integrity-esque so i thought id be pretty stupid to pass it up! our newer stuff sounds a little more "oldschool" though which im happy with as well. but yeah, thank you very much for supporting us and taking pics! im tom by the way. i didnt get to introduce myself

toggletoggle post by the_taste_of_cigarettes  at Oct 30,2004 1:04am
When I lived in Memphis, this kid thought my hand tattoo was the Integrity skull. I guess it IS kind of similar...

toggletoggle post by bordersauce  at Oct 30,2004 7:21pm
