I have been searching along with our group for over two years. EVERY single ass hole out there wants to play guitar and or sing. Most people say take a shitty guitarist are demote them to bass. My theory on the lack of bass players is the fact that there are NO current bands in the 'mainstream' that are fresh with a leading bass player such as Flea and Claypool from the 90's. There is nothing broadly available that 'inspires' people to play bass. Really too bad, bass is one of the more powerful factors of any band if used properly. Sorry, I play drums.
